Why He Loves Coaching Gymnastics
- I started in an after school gymnastics program at a Denver elementary school when Nadia Comaneci came on the scene. Parents organized a fundraising breakfast to purchase gymnastics equipment. My competitive coaching began in Lafayette back in 1975 at a local “Y.”
- Gymnastics offers unlimited learning opportunities compared to other sports. I enjoy the challenge of teaching skills and seeking new ways (drills) to help the gymnastics understand the concepts of movement. DeVeau’s permits coaches to use their own teaching methods and creativity.
I enjoy boating and spending time on the internet researching new lakes to visit. During the last few years I have enjoyed beautiful lakes in Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Idaho, and Washington.
