Level 9’s capture title at Midwest Open!

The girl’s Level 9 team brought home the money this weekend by taking 1st place at the Midwest Open in Cicero, Illinois. Their winning score was 110.2.

DeVeau’s Level 8 Team members competed at IGI in Chicago on February 7th! A good time was had by all!
Level 9’s & 10’s Attend Brestyan’s Invitational in Boston!

The Level 9’s and 10’s at Quincy Market in Boston. They attended the Brestyan’s Invitational, a good time was had by all, dispite the cold weather!! The trip home was not so easy for some of us!!!

A HUGE congratulations goes to Anton Stephenson and Alec Yoder for their outstanding success at both Regional and National Future Stars competitions!! At the Regional level Anton finished 2nd place and Alec finished 3rd. The National competition was held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and there, Alec finished 6th place and Anton finished 8th! Both of the boys made the National Development Team and have been invited back next summer, along with Coach Chad, to attend a week long camp at the training center. Way to go boys!!

Our very own, Brian Jones receives an award!

Brian Jones was presented with an award for his Power Kids Program by the Indiana Chapter of the Autism Society of American on November 8, 2008 at the Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple. The Power Kids Program won the award for its excellence in providing alternative autism therapy.
Power Kids is a “recreational therapy” program that meets once a week like that of a typical program. It incorporates areas of development, including but not limited to, strength training as well as vestibular (balance) and proprioceptive (body awareness) conditioning.
Students also the opportunity to socialize with fellow peers, as an area of development. The ultimate goal being integrating them into typical classes.
We are very proud of Brian and his program. We invite you to witness his success for yourself!!

Peter Zhao’s Retirement Celebration!

DeVeau’s School of Gymnastics held a retirement celebration for Peter Zhao on Tuesday, September 30th. Peter was presented with gifts from the gym, the booster club, the Peszek family and given a scrapbook of memories from the team kids. Peter sang “I will remember you, will you remember me?” He will be truly missed by all and we will always remember you Peter!!!!
