Preschool Classes

Ages 2 1/2 to 5 Years

DeVeau’s School of Gymnastics prides itself as the top preschool development program in Indiana. Many top notch athletes got their start from DeVeau’s preschool program. In addition to hundreds of gymnasts, DeVeau’s has also had swimmers, divers, cross-country runners, pole vaulters, volleyball players, basketball players, football players, golfers, cheerleaders, and other athletes, at both the collegiate and Olympic level, begin their development at DeVeau’s. In a DeVeau’s preschool class, students will also enhance their cognitive and sensory development, gross motor skills, coordination, and social skills. Students will get to bounce on a trampoline, jump into the foam pit, walk on the balance beam, and swing on the bars. They will be introduced to many gymnastics skills including forward and backward rolls, headstands, and cartwheels.

Preschool Class Age Groups

Preschool classes are grouped by age to ensure appropriate learning. While classes focus on the basics and fundamentals of gymnastics, the presentation of the material varies according to the age of the students. Students will receive instruction on all of the gymnastics apparatus: vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline. Flexibility, agility, coordination and motor skill exercises are integrated into the class curriculum providing students with strong development base for any sport they may choose to pursue. Placement is determined by the student’s age at the beginning of the session. In cases of accelerated or delayed development, the coaching staff will determine appropriate placement.
