Our Mission

DeVeau’s strives to foster a safe and positive learning environment where children are empowered to reach their personal potential.  We believe that gymnastics is the foundation of all sports and will benefit all future athletic endeavors.  DeVeau’s seeks to enrich children’s lives by providing a fun physical outlet and opportunities to develop life skills including overcoming challenges, goal setting, self-confidence, and teamwork.  We will always aspire to put children’s love of learning and happiness as our utmost goal.

History

Joan DeVeau founded DeVeau’s School of Gymnastics in 1982 with 185 gymnasts and 3 instructors in a 5,000 square foot facility on Shadeland Avenue in Indianapolis. DeVeau’s current location in Fishers, IN boasts over 56,000 square feet and houses over 40 instructors. Over the past 40 years, DeVeau’s has grown to over 300 competitive gymnasts and cheerleaders on team and over 1,000 students in recreation classes.  Joan’s daughter, Taryn, and her husband, Luke, maintain DeVeau’s values of a fun, family atmosphere that loves to see children enjoy learning and understand the value of earning success.

Student Success

DeVeau’s has had thousands of students through our doors over the years, and many contribute their triumphs to the foundation and life lessons they received at DeVeau’s. Over 35 gymnasts have received college scholarships to schools such as Air Force Academy, Arizona State University, Ball State University, Brown University, Cornell University, Indiana State University, Indiana University, Ohio State University, Stanford University, University of Alabama, UCLA, University of Illinois, University of Kentucky, University of Nebraska, University of Pennsylvania, UCLA, Western Michigan University, and many more.

In 2008, DeVeau’s gymnast Samantha Peszek made the USA Olympic gymnastics team, and she had trained at DeVeau’s since she was 2 years old! In 2007, another record year, DeVeau’s competitive Teams swept Indiana State Championships, claiming 1st place in all team divisions for both the boys and girls (the first gymnastics school in Indiana to do so)! In addition to successful sports careers, DeVeau’s students have gone on to be successful doctors, lawyers, teachers, and many more professions. Even more rewarding, many of our former students have returned to work at DeVeau’s—coaches Amy, Shannon, Blaize, Annie, Taryn, and Lila were all former students at DeVeau’s.
