WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE DEVEAU’S

Five Stars

We highly recommend any program at DeVeau's! We have one child in Ninja and one in Cheer. Both programs have helped to build their confidence and social skills. Our 3 year old daughter is easily overwhelmed and Coach LJ and Coach Maya are amazing and have really helped her come out of her shell during Ninja!

"I love all of the coaches [at DeVeau’s]. They teach us not only cheer but life lessons that I will always remember. Cheering at DeVeau’s made such a positive impact on me. All the staff are so welcoming and kind. When I grow up I plan on becoming a cheer coach working there because how much these people have inspired me."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does my child need cheerleading experience?

Not at all! Our recreational cheer classes are designed for athletes of all experience levels. Whether your child is brand new to cheer or looking to build on existing skills, our coaches create a fun, supportive environment where every athlete can learn and grow.

What will my child learn in cheer class?

Athletes develop the fundamentals of cheerleading, including motions, jumps, beginner stunts, tumbling, dance, flexibility, strength, and performance skills. Classes focus on building confidence, teamwork, and proper technique while having fun.

Is this class only for kids who want to join a cheer team?

No! Recreational cheer is perfect for any child who wants to learn cheerleading, stay active, and have fun. While it's a great foundation for athletes who may be interested in all-star or school cheer in the future, there's no expectation or commitment to join a competitive team.

Can my child try a class first?

Yes! We offer a complimentary class so your child can experience our cheer program before enrolling. It's a great opportunity to meet our coaches, participate in class, and see if cheer is the right fit.

What should my child wear to cheer class?

Athletes should wear comfortable athletic clothing, such as shorts or leggings with a fitted T-shirt or tank top, along with clean athletic shoes designed for indoor use. Long hair should be pulled back, and jewelry should be left at home. Be sure to bring a water bottle, too!

How is cheer different from tumbling?

While the two go hand in hand, they're not the same! Cheer classes teach a variety of cheerleading skills, including motions, jumps, stunts, dance, performance, and tumbling. Tumbling classes focus specifically on floor skills like rolls, cartwheels, walkovers, handsprings, and flips. If your child wants the full cheerleading experience, cheer is the best choice. If they're primarily interested in developing tumbling skills, a tumbling class is the way to go.
